With Love, Katie.
Spring is the season of renewal, but it can also bring unexpected fatigue for many people. As your body adjusts to longer days, fluctuating temperatures, and perhaps a shift in routine, it’s common to feel a little sluggish. This shift can stir emotions; some feel a renewed sense of focus, while others experience a dip in energy or mood as daylight wanes. It’s a transitional period, but trust me, you can help your body feel more energized and prepared for summer.
Thankfully, nature offers powerful remedies to refresh and energize your system, starting with one small drink.
These 3+1 healthy mocktails are not just delicious, but they’re also packed with natural ingredients like turmeric, ginger, honey, lemon, and orange, all of which support digestion, reduce inflammation, and boost your energy.
Turmeric, Ginger, Honey and Lemon/Orange
Now, before we dive deep, I have a whole blog post about turmeric and ginger, so by now I have become a fan of these herbs, and I hope you will too.
- Turmeric
This golden spice contains curcumin, a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that supports liver detoxification, eases joint stiffness, and balances mood—perfect for spring’s emotional and physical shifts. As a mom, I really need energy and a liver detoxification is always a good idea, since I have been drinking a lot of coffee before I switched to matcha.
- Ginger
It is best known for its warming, circulation-boosting properties, but it also improves digestion and fights fatigue. I love it combined with honey.
- Honey
A natural source of quick energy, raw honey is rich in enzymes and antioxidants. It soothes sore throats, supports immunity, and adds natural sweetness without refined sugar.
You don’t have to drink and eat honey every day, but due to its properties, honey is definitely worth a try.
- Lemon and Orange
These citrus fruits are loaded with vitamin C, which supports adrenal health and reduces fatigue. They also alkalize the body and freshen the mind, making them ideal for a spring reset.
3+1 Energy Mocktails for an Energy Boost
1. Ginger Citrus Sparkle
Ingredients:
- Juice of 1 orange
- Juice of ½ lemon
- ½ tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp raw honey
- Sparkling water
Shake the citrus juices with ginger and honey in a jar. Pour into a glass and top with sparkling water. Serve chilled with an orange slice. If autumn or winter, add warm water, just like a warm tea.
The vitamin C boosts your immune system, and the ginger gently energizes, perfect for mid-morning slumps.
Tip: If you have a daughter who wants to try literally everything you eat and drink, you can and still water. It tastes good in this way too!
2. Golden Glow Refresher
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cold chamomile or green tea
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp honey
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Pinch of black pepper (helps turmeric’s bioactive properties)
Whisk turmeric, honey, lemon, and pepper into the tea until combined. Serve over ice.
Turmeric reduces inflammation and supports detox; chamomile calms, while lemon refreshes. Ideal for a slow spring or summer afternoon. Skip ice and serve it as a warm tea in fall or winter.
3. Ginger Pineapple Cooler
Ingredients:
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- ½ tsp fresh grated ginger
- Juice of ½ lime
- A few mint leaves
- Still or sparkling water
Muddle ginger and mint in a glass, add juice and lime, then top with water and ice. Pineapple is rich in bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion, perfect for when spring heaviness hits your belly.
+1. Honey-Lemon Morning Shot (Mini Mocktail)
Ingredients:
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 1 tsp raw honey
- Warm water (not boiling)
- Optional: pinch of cayenne or grated ginger
Stir all ingredients together in a small glass and sip slowly.
This energizing elixir wakes up your metabolism and hydrates you first thing. A great way to shift sluggish mornings into a more vibrant spring day. Make more, and store it in the fridge.
