With Love, Katie.
There was a time when I didn’t notice the seasons changing until I saw a holiday aisle at the store and it was the end of the year, again. Life moved fast, we move fast, we do everything so fats lately… and the only rhythm I followed was my period app. But deep inside, I craved something slower and softer to feel less tsressed. I really started reading about the holistic lifestyle and with it one day I read about the seasonal rituals.
I wanted to feel the shift from winter to spring, not just dress for it and go out more. I really wanted to eat something that feels like spring, and to enjoy the fresh foods more. But let me be honest, I did not even now what are seasonal fruis or veggies. I wanted to honor the long, sleepy evenings of December, but then to feel the energy life in April and the slow golden heat of late summer.
And lately I have been very very interested in getting closer to the nature and it’s beauty.
That’s when I began creating seasonal rituals. Not elaborate traditions, but simple, intentional moments that helped me reconnect—with nature, with time, and with myself. You should not imagine some big rituals, dance in the nature, with candles. Just gentle little changes.
These seasonal rituals became my gentle reminders that even when life feels chaotic, the earth keeps turning and so do I. And so do You.
What Are Seasonal Rituals?
Seasonal rituals are small, meaningful practices that align with the energy of the season you’re in. They can be physical (like changing your skincare or meals), spiritual (like setting intentions or releasing), or emotional (like slowing down or starting fresh).
They’re not about following trends, which you know I hate. All my choices are made to make sure they last long. That they really mean something.
They help us remember that:
- Life is not meant to be lived in constant productivity
- Every season brings a different energy, pace, and invitation. Of course I am lazy in December, but I really enjoy May.
- We are cyclical beings living in a cyclical world. Just like our nature.
Why Seasonal Rituals Matter (Especially for Women)
Women are naturally cyclical—our bodies, hormones, and energy shift throughout the month and the year. Seasonal rituals help us:
- Feel grounded in times of transition
- Honor rest and renewal, not just achievement
- Reconnect with nature’s wisdom- which was my main goal
- Create structure that feels soft, not rigid. Something, that makes your days be better.
- Remember our own rhythms when life gets loud. As a mom, remembering this is very important.
They’re especially powerful for mothers, creatives, caregivers, and anyone who often loses themselves in the needs of others. Rituals bring you home. I really want to learn this to my girls.
The Wheel of the Year
But before, let’s make sure you will be really interested in seasonal living. Did you know about “The Weel of the Year” phrase? It is a beautiful, nature-based calendar made up of eight seasonal festivals, rooted in ancient Celtic and pagan traditions.
It’s a deeply intuitive way to reconnect with seasonal rhythms, the natural world, and yourself—and it fits perfectly with the heart of slow, holistic living. Listen, before I started digging deeper as I only knew about Imbolc and Mabon. It was all over my Instagram the Mabon in the autumn. Now let me make you smile:

A Season Is More Than A Weather Change
Each season brings unique energy and has it’s one turning points. A seasonal living it’s about listening to what nature is doing… and letting that guide how you eat, rest, move and care for yourself.
🌱 Spring: awaken and begin again
- Energy: Renewal, planting seeds (literally and emotianally, no?) and new ideas
- Keywords: Lightness, freshness, curiosity
- Body care: Exfoliate gently to remove dry, dull layers, begin dry brushing or lymphatic massage
- Ritual ideas: Clean one drawer, declutter, write new intentions, start a journal, walk barefoot in the grass, open your windows, cuz you can finally enjoy the fresh air, tha warm wind
- Food and drink rituals: Enjoy bitter greens like arugula, dandelion or fresh herbs to support liver detox. Sip warm lemon water in the morning. Try light soups, steamed vegetables or simple stir-fries. Add fresh mint or basil to your water.
The nature wakes up and so should we. This is the season of starting something new, like holistic lifestyle (nooo, you maybe will need 1-2 years to change everything, but good job takes time). It is time to declutter your home, your mind, your soul.
Spring is the season of reawakening—your energy starts to lift, and your body craves freshness. Support your hormones. Give it foods that are cleansing but gentle, and honor the sense of starting over. Make sure your start your day with a good meal and switch your third coffee to a matcha.
Spring is your follicular phase: you have more energy and you are very productiv. It is still not hot outside! Enjoy it.
☀️ Summer: expand and shine
You celebrate, connect, express, and take in the fullness of life. More light, more play, more presence.
- Energy: Fullness, warmth, expression
- Keywords: Joy, connection, celebration
- Body care: Use a lot of sunscreen, aloe vera, rosewater, or cucumber mists; hydrate with light but frequent body oils or gels and avoid over-exfoliating
- Ritual ideas: Host a picnic, wear bright colors, move your body with music, eat outside, spend more time near water, beacuse now it’t the time to enjoy the water in our lifes.
- Food and drink rituals: Choose hydrating foods like cucumber, watermelon, berriesj and juicy peaches as they have antioxidants and have a lot of water in it. Make herbal iced teas with hibiscus, rose or lemon balm. Grill seasonal vegetables, please make sure you eat a lot of fresh veggies. Enjoy vibrant salads with citrus dressings.
Summer is about celebration. Summer is the ovulation itself: we are full of energy, confident and way more resilient.
Your energy is outward, your heart is open. Let your meals feel like rituals of joy—colorful, fresh, shared: listen, this is finally the time to try to eat something fresh every day.
🍁 Autumn: Reflect and release
You reflect, slow down and release what no longer fits. You turn inward.
- Energy: Harvesting, turning inward, letting go
- Keywords: Simplicity, gratitude, clarity
- Body care: Add warm baths with oats or milk; use grounding essential oils like cedarwood, frankincense, or clove
- Ritual ideas: Declutter your space, make soup, journal what you’re releasing, spend quiet time in nature, write gratitude lists
- Food and drink rituals: Embrace grounding foods like pumpkin, root vegetables, squash, and oats. Make slow-cooked soups and stews. Sip spiced teas (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom we all know we love fall and fall means cinnamon too 😁 ). Add warming herbs and baked apples to your week: apple pie everywhere.
Autumn invites you to slow down and finally let go of the excess—both emotionally and physically. Nourish yourself with warm, grounding foods that bring you back to center.
Your inner autumn is the luteal phase. Just like the nature, in this phase you need more selfcare, more sleep.
❄️ Winter: Rest and restore
In winter you listen, you soften, retreat and restore, and learn to make peace with stillness.
- Energy: Stillness, retreat, inner work
- Keywords: Slow, soft, sacred
- Body-care: Layer your skincare (oil then cream or balm), use warm, rich oils daily (even morning and night)
- Ritual ideas: Light candles, sleep more, drink herbal teas, read, journal by the window, take salt baths, oil your skin with warm oils
- Food and drink rituals: Lean into hearty broths, warm porridges, baked roots, and herbal infusions like chamomile, tulsi, and nettle. Drink warm oatmilk with cinnamon at bedtime and bake bread or simple nourishing dishes that warm the home.
Winter is a time of retreat. Your energy pulls inward: let your kitchen become a space of restoration—nourishing your body with warmth, minerals and deep comfort.
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” — Lao Tzu
Now listen to me, the key is in the power of repetition: he more you return to these rituals, the more they become part of your life. You begin to crave them. You begin to look forward to them.
How to Create Your Own Seasonal Rituals
You don’t need a planner, a perfect homeor a Pinterest board. You just need to begin. Here’s how to start:
1. Notice what the season feels like in your body.
Are you craving warmth? Movement? Stillness? Nourishment? Listen first.
2. Choose one area of life to shift. One is enough for now.
- Your meals? -> this was mine.
- Your morning routine? -> i am the egg eater now., and I drink matcha.
- Your beauty rituals?
- Your home environment? -> why not try a decluttering porcess?
- Your sleep? -> maybe learn some stress relief methods.
3. Keep it simple.
A ritual can be five minutes. It can be lighting a candle before dinner or taking a walk without your phone.
4. Mark the beginning of the season with intention.
Write a note. Set an affirmation. Breathe deeply and whisper: I’m stepping into this new season with care.
5. Make it yours.
There is no right way to do this. You can follow the moon or the weather or your own internal clock. Your ritual is valid if it brings you peace.

Start with one small ritual. Repeat it each season. Let it grow. And slowly, you’ll find that even amidst the chaos of modern life, you have something sacred to hold onto.
